My yoga practice
I have been practising Yoga since 2000. I am a qualified teacher and a qualified Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. I began my love affair with yoga by attending hatha yoga classes once a week and practising what I had learned at home. I bought books and worked on the asanas daily in my own time. I soon began to feel the physical and mental benefits of committed regular practice. If I missed a day it felt like missing a meal. I felt somehow lacking. Eventually I decided to take my practice a step further and train as a teacher. I joined the Sivananda Ashram in New York State, in a remote location and ideally suited to study. The school is run along the lines of the traditional 'gurukula' system. I was fortunate enough to be taught by superb teachers. Srinivasan is the director of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Ranch and the Acharya or senior Sivananda teacher of the Eastern USA. Swami Sadasivananda is the director of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center of New York. These direct disciples of Swami Vishnudevananda have trained thousands of Sivananda yoga teachers around the world. I attend classes in a range of yoga styles and have extended my practice and teaching. I look forward to sharing what I have learned and passing on the art of yoga to you.
